Pay it Backward at Nemesis Coffee

On September 12th, 2018 United Way of the Lower Mainland is inviting people to stop by Nemesis Coffee to pay it forward (or backward) by purchasing $1 coffee for the person behind you. The aim of this is to promote a chain of generosity and kindness among coffee drinkers and the community in general.

The inspiration behind this something the United Way calls local love; the actions residents take – whether they are big or small – to build a connection and improve the communities they call home. Everyone that says “yes” to surprising the person in line behind them will contribute to United Way’s goal of engaging one million people in acts of local love, by 2025.

Nemesis being a hot spot for all things coffee and coffee culture in Vancouver, as well as a cultivar of positive change in the community, it is only fitting that United Way partner with them to provide an avenue of these acts of kindness. Nemesis’ communal space fosters diversity and has created a positive presence within the neighbourhood which allows all their customers to benefit from local love.

So join the team at Nemesis and United Way on Wednesday, September 12th from 10am to 1pm to share in the excitement of helping grow the local love within the community.
