I'm going to tell you all right now, if it wasn't for google I never would have found this place. I've probably walked down Mainland Street in Yaletown a hundred times, and not once did I notice this hidden gem. Located inside the Heritage building by the Yaletown Skytrain Station, you'll find Black Echo Coffee nestled within Global Atomic Design, a designer clothing store. Black Echo specializes in providing the most unique coffee experience, not only with its interesting location choice but also with the beans they use for all their coffee selection.
I'm going to ask a favor of all coffee lovers reading this post (I'm hoping you're coffee lovers, because otherwise I'm clearly just wasting your time making you read this) to head over to 1144 Mainland Street in Yaletown and check out this coffee shop. I promise you will not regret it.
Black Echo uses their own brand of Butter Espresso beans. what are butter espresso beans you ask? Well let me tell you. The espresso beans are roasted in butter to ensure a silky smooth richness is infused into every bean. It allows for a unique flavor profile that you wouldn't get with typical roasting methods. It is an experience that should not be missed.
So all in all, be sure that you stop by this hidden shop in Yaletown and tell them Alfred Drinking Coffee sent you. It won't mean anything and might possibly confuse the barista's but do it anyways just for the fun of it.
