A Year of Alfred Drinking Coffee

The other day I was sitting in my chair, to take my typical Alfred Drinking Coffee picture, about to review another coffee to share with all of you, and as Alex (the person who takes my pictures and somehow manages to make me look so good on Instagram) was about to take another great picture it hit me - I’ve been doing this for over a year now. And I just started to laugh.

I honestly never imagined this instagram page would make to where it is. When Alex, Caley, and I first started throwing around ideas about a coffee blog, I just thought that this would be something funny that only the three of us would laugh at. At the time I didn’t think anyone would want to see my face day after day. I was skeptical to say the least.

We threw around a bunch of ideas like wearing the same grey shirt every day, which looking back was just a terrible idea. The three of us decided on the colour scheme, the attitude and look of the page. At the time, Caley Dimmock (if you don’t already follow her, go check her page out) had about 15k followers and knew a lot about branding. After about a month, we finally nailed down our ideas and got started. The first post I ever did was about JJ Bean’s Railtown Coffee. When JJ Bean commented on the post I was so excited I ran around the office telling everyone I could. The more I posted, the more support came from people and coffee shops alike. The only thing I can say is thank you.

Thank you to all those that motivated me to keep posting, thank you to those who showed their support by either liking the posts, following, and/or commenting. Thank you to all those that messaged me letting me know that I actually helped them choose a coffee that day, or those that messaged me thanking me for introducing them to new coffees they never would have heard of otherwise. Those messages made my day, because it felt like in some minor way I was making your day a little bit better. Thank you for making this entire page worth it.

Thank you to those who support the website that I'm writing this article on. I never imagined I'd be doing this and I just want to thank you for the ability to share my coffee thoughts with you all.

This year has been absolutely amazing and the sole reason for that is all of you that have supported me in one way or another, so I just wanted to take the moment to thank you all and let you know I'll keep doing this as long as I can as well as do my best to keep you all entertained in the mean time.

Cheers and Happy Holidays,

Alfred Drinking Coffee
